This week’s decisions from the Court of Appeal covered a broad range of topics, including defamation (the requirements for notice under the Libel and Slander Act), wrongful dismissal,  expropriations,  several contract interpretation cases, and a family law case, involving whether there was a true loan from a parent to their child.

Civil law topics covered by the Court of Appeal this week included the assignment of leases and whether a landlord was reasonable in refusing to consent because the assignee was affiliated with a competitor, family law, real property, municipal law and, as usual, several appeals from summary judgment.

Hi everyone. Here are this week’s Court of Appeal summaries. This week’s topics include s. 29 and 89(1) of the Indian Act, abuse of process, and interlocutory versus final orders.
